In 1892, the doctor and politician, Carlos Botelho, bought a giant extension of land located in the center of São Paulo. The place was called Sítio Tapanhoim, and there, Botelho decided to reproduce the magnificent Jardin d’Acclimatation, located in Paris, created by Napoleon III in 1860.
