8 Stylish Barbers and Salons in São Paulo
June 3, 2015

Do you have the desire to get an old-fashioned shave? São Paulo is full of barbers specialized in beards, moustaches and also in manicures… or makeup.
Dodaidone, Rua Artur de Azevedo, Pinheiros

On the top floor of the concept store Cartell011 you will find the friendly and famous salon Paul Daidone – which, between us, often offers you a glass of champagne before they take care of you. The hairdresser designed the décor himself.

Retrô Hair, Rua Augusta, Bela Vista

The name already reveals what kind of place you will find yourself in. Retrô Hair is a beauty salon inspired by the 1950s and 60s. To give you an idea of the vintage décor, you will find an old car or a gramophone. Your haircut will follow the same theme. This salon is the first to have original decorations of rua Augusta.

Salão Luxo, Ruas Aspicuelta, Vila Madalena

To continue with the retro vibe, let’s talk about Salão Luxo, situated on one of the main roads in Vila Madalena, rua Aspicuelta. Make no mistake: even with the ultra retro decoration, people who leave from here always have an ultra modern cut!

Circus Hair, Rua Pamplona, Jardim Paulista

Perhaps the most well known on the list, and it’s not for no reason. With two salons close to Paulista, one on rua Pamplona and the other on rua Augusta, Circus Hair has made its reputation. Fun and colorful décor and in addition, a playground to keep yourself busy instead of reading a Brazilian magazine.

Barbearia 9 de Julho, Rua Augusta, Bela Vista

The Barbearia 9 de Julho has 5 different locations in São Paulo and each one has the same style. All in black and white with posters of old pubs and old school bands: a little retro feeling, we really like it.

Barbearia Cavalera, Rua Oscar Freira, Jardim Paulisa

Last August, Cavalera opened a barbershop inside his boutique on Oscar Freire. Inspired by the brand Alberto Hiar and the rapper Marinho, this little space only has 2 chairs and was inspired by the lifestyle in Los Angeles.

Berlin Hair, Rua Augusta, Bela Vista

Berlin Hair opened their doors in October 2013, and the new space on rua Augusta aims to unify art and beauty salons. We enjoy the mix of graffiti with the lodge mood/ small lights around the mirrors.

Liceu de Maquiagem, Rua Tinhorão, Higienópolis

A beauty salon and makeup school in an atypical location. Liceu attracts attention not only for it’s makeup classes and excellent service, but also for it’s décor which displays strange objects, like hand mirrors hung on the wall, contrasted with a modern and purist decoration.
